Welcome to SLIMP 2026!
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am delighted to welcome you to the 2026 Latin American Society for Maternal-Fetal Interaction and Placenta (SLIMP) meeting, to be held in the beautiful city of Chillán, Chile. This event marks a significant milestone as we gather to celebrate the advancements in placental research and maternal-fetal health.
The theme for SLIMP 2026, “Building Bridges in Maternal-Fetal Health in Latin America and Beyond” will guide our discussions and presentations.
SLIMP 2026 will bring together top researchers, clinicians, and professionals from around the world to share their latest scientific achievements and explore new frontiers in maternal and fetal health.
The program, meticulously prepared by our scientific committee, includes plenary sessions, symposiums, workshops, early career activities, and poster discussion sessions. These sessions are designed to foster both formal and informal interactions, promoting collaboration and innovation.
We are also excited to welcome you to Chillán, the cultural heart of Chile’s Ñuble Region, known for its rich traditions, vibrant markets, and nearby Termas de Chillán, offering breathtaking mountain views and natural hot springs. SLIMP2026 will combine scientific exchange with an unforgettable
cultural experience—from the historic city center to local gastronomy—providing the perfect setting for networking and collaboration.
I look forward to welcoming you to Chillán in April 2026 for an inspiring and productive conference. Together, we will advance our understanding of the placenta’s role in health and disease, and work towards improving maternal and neonatal care worldwide.
Warm regards,
