Pre-congress courses

Prior to the opening ceremony of the congress on April 6, we will be holding two pre-congress courses.

PCA applied to women and maternal-fetal health

by Dr. Enrique Guzmán
Maximum 20 people
Price: USD 15

Histological processing and silver techniques for studying the CNS

by Dr. Daniela López and Dr. Jesenia Acurio
Maximum 15 people
Price: USD 15

Principal Component Analysis (PCA) Applied to Women’s and Maternal-Fetal Health

This introduce multivariate statistical tools and their application to clinical data, with an emphasis on the use of PCA in biomedical research.

Cost: USD 15

+ Info
Advanced computational and statistical tools, especially those associated with machine learning, have transformed data analysis in various scientific fields. In the health sector, their application has grown significantly, allowing for the exploration of complex problems through multivariate approaches. This workshop introduces participants to multivariate statistical methods, with an emphasis on Principal Component Analysis (PCA), covering its theoretical foundations, practical applications, and its potential in biomedical contexts.

General Objective

To introduce students and researchers to the use of multivariate statistical tools, with an emphasis on Principal Component Analysis (PCA), promoting their understanding, critical analysis, and application in scientific research in health.

Histological Processing and Silver Staining Techniques for the Study of the Nervous System

Provide hands-on laboratory experience focused on tissue processing and the application of histochemical techniques for the analysis of nervous structures.

Cost: USD 15

+ Info
The histological study of the nervous system requires specialized techniques that allow for the preservation, processing, and visualization of structures with a high level of detail. Among these, routine stains, histochemical stains, and, in particular, silver staining techniques, have been fundamental for the analysis of nerve fibers, glial cells, and neuronal organization. This workshop aims to strengthen theoretical and practical knowledge in this area, contributing to the comprehensive training of students and researchers interested in histology applied to the nervous system.

General Objective

To train participants in histological processing and the application of histochemical and silver staining techniques for the study of the nervous system, integrating theoretical and practical content in a laboratory setting.
